Hawk Bells

From the 16th century to the 19th century, hawk bells (also called hawking and hawk’s bells) were used as falconry equipment in medieval Europe. Hawk bells are small rounded objects made from sheets of brass or copper. Here at Fort Union, it was more common to sew these tiny bells to clothing and accessories.
